The film in its entirety uses bright, super saturated, almost neon colors for a futuristic tone. We set to work decinding the colors right away, wanting to ensure that each act of the film held a distinct mood, while still looking like a cohesive whole. At a very early point we knew the juice itself would be bright orange, and the setting of the juicery would follow along that scheme. Cool colors in the city and on the characters themselves would provide good contrast, and in order to keep the characters from blending into the city, we focused on using brighter and lighter colors, while sticking to darker purples and blues for the city. The trip was supposed to be purposefully a bit of an eyesore, to capture that unsettling atmosphere. We found that using mainly bright magentas and greens created a heavy contrast background, with out taking away too much from the characters.
