Kimathi
Who Is He?
Kimathi is the antagonist, oh sorry, we meant protaganist of our story. Although in his own mind, he might as well be the bad guy. Kim is an anxious foreign exchange student from Kenya, new to East Canamerica, who is struggling to feel like he fits in. Despite being easily accepted into the crew by Juniper, the aloofness and laissez faire atitude of Sorrel and Chervil makes him feel as though he still has something to prove. Before coming to this fast paced city, where the clothes are cool and the music is edgy, he enjoyed playing soccer back home with his childhood friends. He hopes to prove that he can adapt to this new environment, and that he is indeed cool enough to hang out with his awesome new friends.
Character Elements
Kim's design was meant to be very simple, and his fashion somewhat modern (our modern), to emphasize that he is a little behind the times. While that didn't change much, we did find that his orignal design lacked a bit of character, and thus the number 5 soccer jersey was introduced. We even considered putting him in the whole uniform, but decided against it, as you can see. As far as his silohuette goes, we wanted to go for that sort of lanky awkward character, which was emphasized with his "shoulders tucked" posture.
