The original concept for this film left a lot of room for creative thinking when it came to the trip, and when we tacked down what exactly would be included in the trip, we loved each one of the sequences and the discomfort they would bring to our main character and the viewer. However, as we developed our story and became more councious of our timing, certain clips were cut along with one entire sequence, resulting in the mini three act structure of the trip now. Not only did this result in a more concise and effective trip sequence, but it knocked back two complete characater designs for each of the "monster friends." While it was hard to let go of such great creative concepts, our team is happy now to have made things a little less complicated for the creation of this film.
